Karen Sussman, WHNP, FNP-BC, is a dedicated and double board-certified women's health nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner at Cookeville Medical Clinic RHC. With four office locations in Cookeville, Gainesboro, Crossville, and Sparta, Tennessee, she sees patients at the Cookeville office.
In 1981, Karen received her Bachelor of Science of Nursing (BSN) from Northern Michigan University (NMU) in Marquette, Michigan, followed by her Master of Science of Nursing (MSN) from NMU.
She received her Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) from Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin through The University of Wisconsin (WISC) in Madison, Wisconsin.
Karen has been a devoted healthcare professional since 1981, working in various departments, including the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), intensive care unit (ICU), OB/GYN, pediatrics, endoscopy, and outpatient surgery.
She has worked with Red Cross Blood Drives and family practices in the outpatient setting. Her graduate work influenced her passion for the health department, focusing on women’s health, migrant workers' clinics, OB/GYN, and family practices.
When she isn’t busy caring for patients, Karen enjoys keeping fit and healthy. She is a Lifetime Member of Weight Watchers, providing her with a solid understanding of weight loss struggles and weight management.
Karen has had a loving marriage of over 30 years. She is a mother to two daughters and a grandmother to two beautiful grandchildren.
